By a big difference-- The soap company beat out the bids of the other company by a long shot.
Se utiliza la expresión "By a long shot" cuando se quiere resaltar que existe una gran diferencia de margen ( Positivo : Por mucho Negativo : Para nada/Ni cerca)
Ejemplos:
Para nada estoy cerca de terminar mi tarea ( " I haven't finished my homework...not by a long shot" )
Esta computadora es por mucho, mas avanzada que la mía (" This computer is more advanced than mine by a long shot")
