A person who is famous. 

Example: We invited a speaker of note to lecture at the next meeting

Reconocido / famoso

Example sentences:

• The pianist of note will play tonight / El famoso pianista tocará esta noche.

• We need someone of note for the ceremony / Necesitamos a alguien famoso para la ceremonia.

Additional examples:

• The baseball player of note was inducted into the Hall of Fame
