Get a raise

To get an increase in one's salary : 

My sister works hard and she recently got a raise in her new job.

Se utiliza la expresión "Get a raise" cuando se obtiene o se pretende obtener un aumento de salario.

Ejemplos:

Tim espera recibir un aumento de sueldo la próxima semana (" Tim expects to get a raise next week.")

Para pedir un aumento tienes que hablar con el Sr. Anderson  (" To ask for a raise you have to talk to Mr. Anderson")
