TODAY'S IDIOM: OVERSLEEP

"OVERSLEEP"



To sleep beyond one's usual or intended time for waking.


Example: I oversleep my appointment.


Quedarse dormido / no despertar a tiempo. 

Example sentences:

  • Do I lack sleep or have I been oversleeping / ¿Me falta sueño o he estado durmiendo demasiado? 

  • I overslept and i couldn't catch my flight / Me quede dormido y no pude alcanzar mi vuelo.

Additional examples:

  • He overslept and missed the train.

  • Setting a regular sleep pattern can also help put your body and mind at ease, provided you don't oversleep.
